Cylinder Heads mount to the top of the engine block to seal the cylinders and form the combustion chambers. Most contain passages for air, exhaust and fuel, and provide locations to mount valves and injectors. Cat® Reman Cylinder Heads are a smart choice when repairing or rebuilding your Cat engine. During remanufacture each unit is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and inspected for cracks, erosion, or other damage that could cause failure if left undetected. We resurface and polish the combustion deck to ensure a tight seal between the cylinder head and engine block to help prevent combustion gas and coolant leaks. Valve springs are tested to ensure load limits meet original Cat tolerance. All intake and exhaust valves, valve guides, seats, keepers, and springs are replaced with new Cat parts—as are other parts, including head castings, which can’t be remanufactured to meet demanding Caterpillar specifications.
