REQUIRED For Replacement labeled Engines, Long Blocks, and short blocks sold within the U.S. and U.S. Territories the engine core (i.e. old engine) that is removed MUST be returned to your selling Caterpillar dealer, so that they can return to Caterpillar  OR  destroy, as required by law. Proof of return or destruction will then be provided to the EPA and or California ARB if required. Description:
Remanufactured Short Blocks are an assembled cylinder block, crankshaft, cylinder packs and oil jets.

Attributes:
Cat® Reman Short Blocks are disassembled, thoroughly flushed to meet rigid cleanliness standards and 100% inspected for cracks, erosion, or other damage. Block top decks are resurfaced to factory specifications. Crankshafts are reground, polished, and checked for lift endplay. All bearings, seals, gaskets and piston rings are replaced with new Cat® parts. Short Blocks are tested electronically to ensure consistent quality and long life.
