A Spur Gear consists of a cylindrical wheel with evenly spaced teeth projecting radially from its circumference. These teeth mesh with the corresponding teeth of another spur gear, allowing the transfer of rotational power between two parallel shafts. They can be used to increase or decrease torque and speed, adapting the power output to the specific needs of the system.

Applications:
A Spur Gear meshes with the teeth of the mating gear, transferring the rotational motion. Depending on the gear ratio, the rotational speed and torque are either increased or decreased as the power is transferred from the driving gear to the driven gear.
