Description:
The main pump access door is a panel or cover that provides access to the fuel pump located inside the fuel tank. It is located underneath the rear seats or in the trunk area, and it can be opened using a latch or screws. Once opened, it provides access to the fuel pump assembly, which includes the fuel pump, fuel level sender, and fuel filter. It is properly closed and sealed after accessing the fuel pump.
Attributes:
• Held in place by screws, clips, or other fasteners, and sealed with a gasket to prevent fuel leaks.
• Locking mechanism to prevent unauthorized access.
• Have small vents or slots to allow for ventilation and to prevent the build-up of pressure in the fuel tank.
Applications:
The main pump access door is used for maintenance or repairs that involve the fuel pump, such as replacing a failed pump or inspecting the pump module for damage. It is extensively used in Cat 313 and 315 Excavators.
