The Transmission Control Lever, also known as a gear selector or shift lever, is a part of the transmission unit that allows the driver to select and engage different gears. The lever is located on the center console or steering column, within easy reach of the driver. It is connected to the transmission through a series of shift linkages and cables, which transmit the driver's input to the transmission. 

Attributes:
• Designed for comfortable use with an appropriate grip and position for smooth gear changes.
• Withstands repeated use and exposure to heat and vibration.

Applications:
