An Intermediate Shaft Clutch Piston is used to engage and disengage the clutch. The piston is made of steel and has a series of grooves on its surface. The grooves are used to contain the fluid that is used to power the piston. The piston is attached to a connecting rod, which in turn is attached to a clutch fork. When the fluid is pressurized, it enters the cylinder and pushes the piston down. The connecting rod then converts the linear motion of the piston into the rotary motion of the clutch fork. The clutch fork then engages or disengages the clutch, which allows the transmission to shift gears.
