It is designed with a slight interference fit against the shaft or axle it is sealing. This creates a dynamic sealing action, where the lip flexes and maintains contact with the rotating shaft, preventing fluid leakage. It provides sealing performance by maintaining a constant lip-to-shaft contact pressure.
