Description: Air starters use the power of compressed air to crank an engine. Cat Reman air starters like 10R-9085 are available in both vane and turbine types. Vane starters use rotating vanes that slide against the internal housing. They cost less and are more rugged, but usually require more frequent maintenance. Turbine starters have a turbine wheel that extracts power from compressed air. With no contact parts, they’re lighter and offer longer service life. While more expensive initially, turbine starters are quieter and offer longer service life with less frequent maintenance. Remanufactured cores are completely disassembled, cleaned, and inspected for reusability. Each unit is rigorously tested against original specifications, so you know you’re getting genuine Caterpillar reliability.
