The camshaft is a rotating rod with lobes, or raised cams, that force the valves open as it rotates. Each cam controls one valve. Cat Reman camshafts such as part # 20R-1141 are made of high-grade steel, precision balanced for long life. Returned cores are completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, and inspected for reusability. We use our state-of-the-art salvage techniques, advanced manufacturing systems and quality control to return viable components to like new condition. Each unit is heat treated using a patented process that delivers high strength and outstanding wear characteristics. Precise journal grinding provides exact bearing fit for reduced friction and long life. Each unit includes all critical engineering updates, and is rigorously tested against original specifications, so you know you’re getting genuine Caterpillar reliability.
