A Locking Gas Spring is used to assist in opening and closing an Engine Hood assembly. The Spring assembly consists of a cylinder, piston, and rod in which the cylinder contains a pressurized gas, and the piston is fitted with seals that prevent the gas from escaping or leaking. It is mounted on the support assembly and also includes a locking mechanism that can be activated to hold the hood in a fixed position.

Attributes:
• Provided with an extended length of 953mm and a closed length of 558mm with a smooth and controlled movement of the hood.
• Provided with a stroke length of a minimum of 395mm to reduce the risk of the hood slamming shut.
• Provided with a compression force (FC) of 1168N and extension force (FT) of 730N to withstand the weight of heavy hoods and for stable support to the hood.
• High strength and wear resistance.

Applications:
A Locking Gas Spring is used to provide support in opening and closing the hood in the Engine Enclosure.
